Introducing the Fèis Phàislig Tartan
As part of our 10 Year Anniversary celebrations, we’re delighted to unveil the official Fèis Phàislig tartan – a bespoke design marking a decade of music, language and community in Renfrewshire.
Now officially registered on the Scottish Register of Tartans, the tartan will make its public debut this Saturday at our sold-out Anniversary Concert at Paisley Town Hall, worn on stage by host Joy Dunlop and Fèis Phàislig Director Grant McFarlane.
Developed from ideas shared by our young participants and created in partnership with Houston Kiltmakers, the tartan draws on Fèis Phàislig’s colours of a vibrant blue base, threaded with light blue, green, orange, and yellow, representing the energy, creativity, and community spirit that have defined the charity’s work over the last decade.
Grant McFarlane, Director of Fèis Phàislig, said: “It’s a proud moment to unveil our commemorative Fèis Phàislig tartan – the cloth is a lasting marker of our first decade and a way of contributing something new to Scottish tradition. It was important to us that this idea grew from our young people, as they are the heart of everything we do. The design reflects the energy and creativity at the heart of our work in Renfrewshire, and it will serve as a symbol of our identity as we move into the next ten years and beyond.”
